It's been a couple of years since we've seen Jamie Foxx in anything major, and we won't see him on the big screen this year either. But 2017 is shaping up to be a busy one. Not only does he have a role in Edgar Wright's long-awaited Baby Driver, Foxx is set to star alongside Michelle Monaghan in Sleepless, which Open Road has just set for February 24th 2017.
Directed by Baran Bo Odar from Andrea Berloff's script, the corrupt cop film is a remake of 2011's French thriller, Nuit Blanche, and co-stars Tip "T.I." Harris, Gabrielle Union, Scoot McNairy, David Harbour, and Dermot Mulroney. Along with the release date's announcement are a handful of images featuring Foxx, Monaghan, and Harris. SLEEPLESS stars Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained, White House Down) as undercover Las Vegas police officer Vincent Downs, who is caught in a high stakes web of corrupt cops and the mob-controlled casino underground. When a heist goes wrong, a crew of homicidal gangsters kidnaps Downs’ teenage son. In one sleepless night he will have to rescue his son, evade an internal affairs investigation and bring the kidnappers to justice.
