Greg Berlanti Confirms A Booster Gold Movie Is In The Works
While Greg Berlanti is currently known as the architect behind Warner Bros. successful superhero TV shows like The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, he first had to go through some growing pains on the big screen. That would be the failed Green Lantern film that nobody can ever forget about, basically because it hamstrung the studio's cinematic universe plans for years. But his big screen aspirations aren't done, and it sounds like his next attempt will be on the long-rumored Booster Gold movie.
Speaking with THR, Berlanti confirmed that the time-traveling DC Comics hero has a film in the works, and that Zack Stentz, co-writer on X-Men: First Class and Thor, is working on the screenplay...
“I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, ‘Booster Gold,’ is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of ‘Flash’ last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now. I’d probably direct that, or I would want to.”
The last film Berlanti directed was the enjoyable family comedy, Life As We Know It, back in 2010 and obviously his career has taken off since then. The last thing we'd heard was that Booster Gold could be teaming up with his buddy Blue Beetle for what would basically be a superhero comedy, which wold be a nice change of pace for the overly grim universe Zack Snyder has established thus far.
