Remember Hillbilly Heist? Lucky Logan?Or Logan Lucky? Back in February a confusing jumble of news hit that Steven Soderbergh would be coming out of retirement to direct a film by one of those titles. It was a mess, and Soderbergh himself came out and kind of tempered things down a bit. But the project is definitely happening, and now some firm details have emerged.
Soderbergh is indeed directing Logan Lucky, which will see him reunited with Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum and Riley Keough, along with Michael Shannon. Whoa. Tatum and Shannon will play brothers attempting to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race. Keough has been starring (and is amazing, by the way) in Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience series on Showtime.
Look for this to be a red-hot property at Cannes because who doesn't want to be part of Soderbergh's big return project? [THR]
