Aaron Paul, Sean Bean, And Lena Headey Voice New 'Kingslgaive: Final Fantasy XV' Trailer

Before Final Fantasy XV hits game consoles this fall, you can journey to the kingdom of Lucis in the latest FF film from Sony and Square Enix. Today at E3 a brand new trailer was debuted for Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, a  CGI tie-in feature that fleshes out the world of the video game.

Featuring the voices of Sean Bean, Aaron Paul, and Lena Headey, the story centers on Lucis' battle against the Niflheim empire who have plans to rule the world. Paul voices Nyx, a magical knight in King Lucis' (Bean) royal guard who has been assigned to protect Princess Lunafreya (Headey). The film and the game share common characters, such as Lunafreya who is apparently key in both, as well as a central conflict. Here's the official synopsis:

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is one of my all-time favorite CGI movies (if it were in theaters it'd be the best video game movie ever), so I'm definitely going to pick this up, and the game as well, of course. Kingsglaive: Final Fanttasy XV will get a limited theatrical release on August 19th before hitting Blu-Ray and VOD.
