Before you dive in to Pixar's Finding Dory (review here) this weekend, you'll be treated to a nice little surprise. Preceding the film will be the latest Pixar short, Piper, about a baby sandpiper's first steps into exploring all that life has to offer.
The short was directed by Alan Barillaro, and in this first clip you get a look at the gorgeous, photo-realistic visuals. Here's what he had to say to EW earlier this year...
“Seeing the way these sandpipers react to waves and run, I always felt, ‘Gosh, that’s a film, that’s a character. “\It’s always fun to show a world we’re familiar with but from a different perspective. We’ve all been to the beach, but have we ever viewed water from just an inch off the sand? That could be very fearful from a bird’s perspective.”
Not only is the film gorgeous, but tonally it's the perfect story to get you in the mood for what follows.
