Masters of Sex star Michael Sheen is ready to make his directorial debut, and it'll be on the infamous Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway. Green River was penned by Sheen and will find him starring as Ridgway, the serial killer with the most confirmed kills in American history. Throughout the '80s and '90s he murdered 49 women throughout Washington State and was known to have sex with their corpses. The graphic novel Green River Killer: A True Detective Story by Jeff Jensen and Jonathan Case served as the inspiration for Sheen's film. [Deadline]
German hacker flick Who Am I is about to get an American remake from David Goyer, best known for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, and 'Batman v Superman'. The original 2014 film was directed by Baran bo Odar and centered on a hacker group geared towards global fame. It's a little surprising that Goyer won't write the script as Dan Wiedenhaupt is credited for it. This will be Goyer's first time behind the camera since the 2009 horror The Unborn. [Variety]
Josh Radnor is set to direct his third film following happythankyoumoreplease and Liberal Arts. He'll get behind the camera for The Leaves, a sci-fi drama about a man from an alternate universe who tries to convince the love of his life that they are meant to be, even though she has no idea who he is. Christopher Kyle (Serena) and Kevin J. Walsh wrote the screenplay, which seems to have all the familiar romantic and dramatic elements Radnor gravitates to, just in a different genre than he's worked in before. Could be interesting.
