Adam Scott Picks 'Flowers' With Zoey Deutch, Joins Molly Shannon And Toni Collette For 'Fun Mom Dinner'
Adam Scott has always surrounded himself with terrific ensembles, whether it be on the big or small screen. Now he's joined two films that are shaping up to be among his best. First up, Variety reports he'll join the coming-of-age drama, Flowers, along with Kathryn Hahn, Zoey Deutch, and Tim Heidecker. Well, except for Heidecker that sounds pretty awesome. Max Winkler (Ceremony) will direct from a Black List script by Alex McAulay that centers on a sexually adventurous teenage girl who bonds with her obese, mentally unstable brother.
And this next film sounds even better. Variety, who are apparently following Scott like a hawk, report he'll be part of the non-mommy cast of Fun Mom Dinner, which stars fun and funny ladies Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, comedian Bridget Everett, and The League's Katie Aselton. Others in the cast include Paul Rust (Love), Adam Levine, and Rob Huebel. Alethea Jones will make her directorial debut working off a Julie Yeager Rudd script that follows four moms who know one another from their kids' preschool class who decide to have a harmless "fun mom dinner", only to have things take an unexpected turn. That cast is terrific, and hopefully the film will get a nice boost from Shannon's incredible performance in Other People which comes out this fall.
