Fans of Ricky Gervais had reason to celebrate earlier this week his The Office spinoff film, David Brent: Life On the Road was acquired by Netflix, the same service that distributed his recent comedy, Special Correspondents. So great news all around, right? Well...maybe. The downside is that it won't arrive stateside in 2016 while the U.K. gets it this summer, but at least the news also brings a new trailer.
Gervais wrote, stars, and directs the film which follows former clueless Wernham Hogg employee David Brent as he chases his dream of rock music stardom with his band, 'Foregone Conclusion'. The only conclusion to draw is that Brent is just as hopeless as ever, and that dream much further out of reach than he seems to recognize. That could turn out to be kind of sad, based on what we're seeing here, but that may depend on whether you actually like Brent or not.
