When the Marvel films panel arrives on Saturday, usually towards the tail end of the day, it pretty much signals the end of Comic-Con. Yeah, there's stuff that goes on afterwards and more the next day, but really, THAT is what people have been standing in line for 20 hours for. Marvel TV has yet to reach that level, but with night's like tonight that could very well change.
Tonight during the Marvel Luke Cage panel, they revealed teasers for Luke Cage, Iron Fist, the all-star teamup The Defenders, while also confirming a third season of Daredevil. Boom! So yeah, way to be sneaky, guys, by not calling it the Everything Marvel Netflix Panel or something.
The Luke Cage teaser is incredible, set to the sounds of Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya", and showing Cage (Mike Colter) putting his bulletproof skin to the test against a gaggle of goons before encountering the villainous Cottonmouth (Mahershala Ali), who isn't taking him seriously at all.
The Iron Fist footage features star Finn Jones as Danny Rand, and is very much an origin piece, looking a little bit like Batman Begins or Doctor Strange in the way it's set up. The kung fu series will arrive some time in 2017, but you can check out the official logo below.
Finally, it's way too early for any actual footage from The Defenders but the teaser hypes you up with simple logos of the team's heroes, basically everyone who already has a show, including Jessica Jones. Jon Bernthal showed up at the panel and revealed a logo for The Punisher, but to the best of my knowledge didn't drop any other details on the upcoming spinoff.
