The Magic Is Back In New 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Trailer

Only five years have passed since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows brought Warner Bros.' adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels to a close. After grossing nearly $8B over the life of the franchise, there simply had to be a way to keep them going. And so there was, with Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a prequel set in the same world but following a different character on a brand new adventure.

A new trailer for the magical film has arrived at Comic-Con, and it features Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist Newt Scamander, who enters New York and gets into some trouble caused by a pesky Muggle. Here's the synopsis:

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Directed by David Yates with Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Dan Fogler, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, and more co-starring, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens October 21st.
