Guardians Of The Galaxy Confirmed For 'Infinity War', Possible Avengers Cameo In 'Doctor Strange'

The summer may be drawing to a close but that doesn't mean the superhero season is over. Actually, it's never over, and Marvel has one more major film coming up with Doctor Strange. And when that's over, they'll be moving on to the next big crossover event, Avengers: Infinity War, which thanks to some new comments by Vin Diesel is going to give fans something they've been clamoring for.

First up, a rumor at MCUExchange (judge accordingly) says we can expect a cameo from Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in Doctor Strange.  Although filming ended in April, a tweet by co-star Benedict Wong leaves the door open to reshoots that could have included Stark...

This wouldn't be that big of a shock. Iron Man has always been the glue that binds the MCU together, appearing in multiple films to help launch other heroes. This would make three such appearances for him in a calendar year if we include Captain America: Civil War and 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Meanwhile, Vin Diesel took to Facebook Live and confirmed the Guardians of the Galaxy will be part of Avengers: Infinity War. Dude, can we get a Groot vs. Hulk throwdown, please? This will be following the anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which arrives next summer, and it's likely we'll see some kind of setup for their eventual crossover with the earthbound Avengers.

Check out Diesel's comments below, where he thanks his millions of fans (Dude has 100M Facebook followers) and also talks up XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, Fast 8, and his beloved Guardians of the Galaxy.

Doctor Strange opens November 4th, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5th 2017, and Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th 2018.
