Uh, so today we learned that Brangelina is no more! Mr. and Mrs. Smith themselves, Brad Pitt and Angelina, are going their separate ways. The initial rumors suggested Pitt's Allied co-star Marion Cotillard was the cause of the split, but that turned out to be false. Still, I'm getting messages from people who are convinced Pitt and Cotillard are together. I don't know and don't care, but I do know the timing of this new trailer for the WWII romance is very convenient.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the drama finds Pitt and Cotillard as an American and French resistance fighter respectively who fall in love while on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London some time later, pressures caused by the war are having an impact on their relationship. Good thing everyone is so pretty and the film is so beautifully shot. Not sure what kind of chance this has during the awards season but with Pitt and Cotillard it has to be considered a sleeper at the very least.
Allied opens November 23rd.
