Secrets Haunt Amy Adams In First Trailer For 'Nocturnal Animals'

Seven years ago fashion designer Tom Ford dazzled us with his gorgeous directorial debut, A Single Man. However when the chips were down it was only able to muster up a Best Actor award Oscar nomination for star Colin Firth. The word on Ford's long awaited follow-up, Nocturnal Animals, has been just as glowing out of Venice and Toronto, with Amy Adams already having accolades heaped upon her. It looks like Ford has another awards hopeful on his hands, but will this one fare better?

The first trailer for Nocturnal Animals has arrived and it doesn't dig too deep into the plot, which is probably a good idea. Adams plays a woman whose ex-husband wrote a manuscript she describes as "violent and sad", centering on a family whose vacation turns deadly. The thing is, he dedicated the story to her, and she has to ponder whether it's his idea of a threat. So the film follows two separate tracts, one in reality and another within the story he wrote. Jake Gyllenhaal plays the ex-husband, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer, Isla Fisher, Michael Shannon, and Laura Linney rounding out a terrific cast.

Nocturnal Animals gets an early limited run on November 18th, continuing on the 23rd and going wide on December 9th.
