Domhnall Gleeson Will Chase 'Peter Rabbit' As Mr. McGregor
Rather than chasing rebel scum as he did playing General Hux in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Domhnall Gleeson is going to track down a different kind of menace. Deadline reports he's joined the cast of Sony's live-action Peter Rabbit film, taking on the role of evil farmer Mr. McGregor.
Maybe "evil" isn't the best way to describe McGregor. In Beatrix Potter's novels he's an elderly Scottish gardener who, rightfully, wants to keep Peter and other rabbits from eating his vegetables. So what if he also wants to capture them and make rabbit stew? You ever had rabbit stew? It's delicious.
Gleeson joins Rose Byrne who has the other live-action role as Bea, with James Corden voicing Peter plus Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki in other voice roles. Along with the A.A. Milne biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin this is the second author-based film Gleeson has joined recently.
Will Gluck begins filming on Peter Rabbit in January for release in April 2018.
