Now that Aaron Sorkin is embarking on his directorial debut, an adaptation of Molly Bloom's memoir Molly's Game, it's fair to consider how many "Sorkinisms" will make their way into the script. If we can obsess over the number of lens flares in a J.J. Abrams movie then the same should go for the catchy turns of phrase Sorkin uses in every single project, whether they make sense or not.
And maybe it will be Kevin Costner who will wonder aloud about the "value in a proportional response" because THR says he's considering a role in the film. He would join the previously cast Jessica Chastain, Michael Cera, and Idris Elba in the story of how Molly Bloom, a former Olympic-level skiier, began running the most prestigious high stakes poker game in all of Hollywood until the feds busted it up. Costner would play Molly's tough but loving father.
Next up for Costner is the potential Best Picture contender Hidden Figures starring Taraji P. Henson.
