First Look At Adam Driver In Martin Scorsese's Religious Drama, 'Silence'
Remember a couple of years ago when Martin Scorsese's really went down to the wire editing The Wolf of Wall Street? Well, it's happening again with Silence, so it may be a while longer before the long-awaited religious drama drops a trailer. We'll just have to make due with a new photo offering up our first look at star Adam Driver.
Shisaku Endo's novel serves as the basis for a 17th-century story of two Jesuit priests, one played by Driver and another by Andrew Garfield, who face persecution and violence in Japan while searching for their mentor (Liam Neeson) and bringing Christianity to the heathen masses. Expect faith to get tested in a big way, possibly by the villagers the priests are conversing with in the photo.
Silence is expected to get a limited run on December 23rd before going wide the following month. Many expect it to be a Best Picture favorite, but we have to see the movie first, don't we?
