Jason Momoa Is An Alaskan Thug In Trailer For 'Sugar Mountain'

Jason Momoa may seem like the type of actor who gravitates only to roles like Conan the Barbarian and Aquaman, but his resume is actually pretty diverse. He actually keeps it pretty small-scale about half of the time, whether in projects like SundanceTV's The Red Road or Ana Lily Amirpour's The Bad Batch. And before we see him suit up for Justice League there's the indie crime thriller, Sugar Mountain, and a new trailer for it is here.

Directed by Richard Gray with Drew Roy, Haley Webb, Shane Coffey, and Cary Elwes co-starring, the film is set in the Alaskan wilderness where two brothers fake their own disappearance in order to have an amazing story to sell to the media. Why are they doing such a thing? Because they owe big money to a local thug, and when that local thug looks like Jason Momoa you'll do anything not to get on his bad side. Of course, shit goes wrong.

I don't know what to make of this. It looks a little too much like Alaskan Bush People or Sarah Palin's Alaska for my taste.

Sugar Mountain opens on December 9th.
