Reese Witherspoon And Shailene Woodley Do Very Bad Things In HBO's 'Big Little Lies' Trailer

Some like to call this the new golden age of television, and in some cases they are right. While the number of remakes, reboots, and film spinoffs is aggravating, the fact of the matter is that bigger stars and better filmmakers are moving to TV. And a prime example of this shift can be found in HBO's Big Little Lies, which stars Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Nicole Kidman, and Laura Dern with Wild and Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee helming.

The anticipated miniseries has dropped its first trailer, and it looks like thrilling, mature material in the vein of Gone Girl. Penned by David E. Kelley (The Practice) based on the novel by Liane Moriarty, it follows three mothers of children who all attend the same school. Their seemingly normal lives are turned upside down when events lead to murder, but of course that is just the beginning.

Also starring Zoe Kravitz, Adam Scott, Alexander Skarsgard, and James Tupper, Big Little Lies premieres next year but has no set date.
