Trailer For 'Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life' Returns You To Stars Hollow
I'll be honest with you, I don't know if I'll be watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life or not. The original series hooked me for a few seasons due to my unhealthy obsession with Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham. Lorelai and Rory's day-to-day adventures in the sleepy town of Stars Hollow was fun for a while, but when creators Amy and Daniel Sherman-Palladino left, so did I. However, they are back along with much of the cast for Netflix's revival miniseries, and based on this new trailer it's like nobody ever left.
So a few things I've managed to take away from all this: Luke (Scott Patterson) and Lorelai's relationship appears to be at a crossroads, which isn't really a shock; Rory is gallivanting around the globe trying to decide what to do with her life, much to Emily's (Kelly Bishop) chagrin; Kirk (Sean Gunn) makes for an awkward dinner guest; the characters I hated most (meaning any of Rory's boyfriends) are back; Melissa McCarthy is back as my second favorite non-Gilmore character Sookie (first being Paris); and any mention of Richard Gilmore (the late Edward Hermann) is going to get me all misty.
Here's the official synopsis: “Gilmore Girls” makes its much-anticipated return with four memorable chapters from the lives of Lorelai, Emily, Rory and countless more Stars Hollow stalwarts. Picking up nine years after we last dropped in on the whimsical Connecticut town, “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” finds each of our leading ladies at a major crossroad: Lorelai’s relationship with Luke is at an unnerving standstill; Rory’s budding journalism career in New York has stalled before it’s even begun; and Emily’s world is turned upside down following the untimely passing of her beloved husband, Richard.
“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” is told through four 90-minute chapters —each spanning one season: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall— and brings back to life everything from the quaint corner diner to the dreamy Dragonfly Inn to a fast-talking, quick-witted mother-daughter love story unlike any other.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hits Netflix on November 25th. Oh what the heck, I'll watch.
