First Look At Jessica Chastain And Her Animal Co-Stars In 'The Zookeeper's Wife'

Later this month we'll see Jessica Chastain in what may be her next Oscar-nominated performance in Miss Sloane, but we're already getting a look at her next major role. USA Today has released the first images from The Zookeeper's Wife, showing the actress and her many animal co-stars.

Directed by Niki Caro and based on the book by Diane Ackerman, the film tells the true story of the Warsaw Zoo and its stewards, Antonina (Chastain) and Dr. Jan Zabinski (Johan Heldenbergh). When their country was invaded by the Nazis, they courageously defied the Reich by hiding hundreds of Jews within zoo's cages and hidden passages. Daniel Bruhl, Michael McElhatton, Goran Kostic, Shira Haas, and Iddo Goldberg co-star.

The Zookeeper's Wife opens March 31st 2017.
