John Cena, Leslie Mann, And Ike Barinholtz Make 'The Pact'

While there's little chance WWE poster boy John Cena will ever reach the same heights as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, he's beginning to carve out a niche for himself as an actor. I thought he was pretty good in Legendary a few years ago, and recently he's shown to have a knack for comedy in Trainwreck and Sisters. Well he'll have a chance to make us laugh once again in The Pact, a new comedy from Pitch Perfect writer, Kay Cannon.

Cena will be joined by Leslie Mann (This is 40) and Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors) in Cannon's directorial debut which follows three parents who learn their daughters have made a pact to lose their virginity on prom night and set out to stop them. Unsurprisingly, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are on board to produce, while Cannon's husband Eben Russell is teaming with 'Harold and Kumar' directors Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz on the script.

So something else to keep Cena out of the squared circle for a while as he slowly moves away from professional wrestling. Mostly he's seen now at the constant beck and call of his girlfriend Nikki Bella on Total Bellas, or hosting a bunch of reality and awards shows. Mann can be seen opposite Robert De Niro in The Comedian, while Barinholtz appeared in Suicide Squad, Neighbors 2, and wrote Central Intelligence. [Variety]
