'Avatar' Sequels Add Cliff Curtis Of 'Fear The Walking Dead'

The Avatar sequels are (presumably) still happening now that they have brand new release dates beginning in 2020. So far though the only cast confirmed for James Cameron's films are returnees Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang. Deadline reports there is finally a new addition with Fear the Walking Dead's Cliff Curtis signing on as a lead in all of the movies.

Curtis will play Tonowari “the leader of the Metkayina, the reef people clan.” We already knew there would be extensive underwater sequences as Cameron expands beyond the forests of Pandora, and it sounds like Curtis will be a big part of that. Don't be surprised if Curtis gets written out of Fear the Walking Dead to have time for shooting his part.

Avatar 2 hits theaters December 18th 2020, with more sequels in 2021, 2024, and 2025.
