Hugh Jackman Is P.T. Barnum In First Look At 'The Greatest Showman'
Seemingly forever in the works, P.T. Barnum film The Greatest Showman finally had a chance to get moving when Hugh Jackman finished up with Logan. If Wolverine was the "best there is at what he does", then so was Barnum who specialized in finding incredible acts to put on the greatest show on Earth.
EW has dropped the first images from the circus biopic which stars Jackman as Barnum, founder of the Barnum & Bailey Circus. Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Paul Sparks co-star. Rebecca Ferguson plays Swedish singer Jenny Lind, who became one of Barnum's great fascinations. Veteran actress Diahann Carroll plays Joice Heth, who Barnum promoted as the 161-year-old mammy of George Washington.
Michael Gracey, who was once supposed to direct Disney's Snow White and the Order of Seven before they thought better of it, takes the helm and it's largely because of him the film became a musical, allowing Jackman to show off his musical gifts. The Greatest Showman opens Christmas Day.
