Katherine Waterston Won't Go Quietly In New 'Alien: Covenant' Clip
Whereas yesterday's Alien: Covenant teaser was pretty gruesome, or was leading up to something gruesome, today's is more of an introduction. Katherine Waterston plays the lead female, Daniels, who many are already calling the "Ellen Ripley" of the film, based on what little we've seen of her in trailers. Of course, that footage has her packing some serious heat in order to stay alive, so maybe it's not such a bad comparison.
This introductory clip starts off pretty chill, showing us how lonely it can be aboard the Covenant. Of course the tension is soon ratcheted up when the ship's computer, referred to as "Mother", stops responding. The whole "Mother" thing comes off as super creepy, and I think there's something more to it than meets the eye. Of course, "Mother" is pretty shady in 1977's Alien, but that doesn't mean it's the same when 'Covenant' takes place. And then we get to see Daniels doing whatever it takes to survive the attack, hence the clip's title, "She Won't Go Quietly."
Alien: Covenant opens May 19th.
