Meryl Streep And (Unfortunately) Pierce Brosnan To Sing Again In 'Mamma Mia!' Sequel

Now this came out of nowhere and is sure to make fans of ABBA and saccharine sweet wedding musicals quiver with joy. Universal has announced a sequel 2008's big screen adaptation of stage musical Mamma Mia!, appropriately subtitled 'Here We Go Again', with the original cast returning.

That means we can get ready for more of Meryl Streep's singing, hopefully more of Amanda Seyfried's vocals which are really good, and unfortunately more of Pierce Brosnan's yelling the Swedish pop band's lyrics. Good lord, somebody save me, S.O.S.!!

Expect to see Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper, Stellan Skarsgard, and Christine Baranski (who is great in the first movie) return to do their thing. This original story will be written and directed by Ol Parker, who wrote The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a film that could probably crossover well with Mamma Mia if he thought about it a little bit.

The film will open on July 20th 2018 which suggests it will get rolling pretty soon.
