Punch Drunk DVDs: 'Fifty Shades Darker', 'Orange is the New Black', 'A Street Cat Named Bob', And More!

NEW THIS WEEK

In this new sequel to the smash-hit erotic thriller series, the titular Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) returns to once again complicate the life of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). As the troubled couple attempt to work out a new “arrangement”, shadowy figures from Christian's mysterious past reemerge to further threaten their unconventional relationship.

We Said: Fifty Shades Darker deserves every ounce of pain inflicted upon it for coming THIS CLOSE to being superior to its frigid predecessor, however an incredible lack of stakes, drama, and passion have doomed it to the kiddie table.” Rating: 2.5 out of 5

The latest season of Netflix’s hit dramedy picks up where the last season left off, exploring the consequences of the mass break out the prison just faced. Tensions rise between rivaling gangs, inmates’ pasts are explored, and violence and abuse of power from the prison staff escalates in what many have called the series’ most intense season yet.

Based on the best selling book of the same name, A Street Cat Named Bob tells the true story of a recovering addict street musician (Luke Treadaway) who’s life is turned around with the help of charismatic stray cat.

We Said: “[Director Roger] Spottiswoode has some fun showing us how silly we humans look from his vantage point, which is usually sitting right on James' shoulder.  You're not going to find a lot of dramatic tension in A Street Cat Named Bob, but thanks to winning performances by man and feline alike, the film always manages to land on its feet...or paws.” Rating: 3 out of 5
