Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Byzantium) has put together a terrific trio of actresses for his New York-set thriller, The Widow. Joining the previously-cast Isabelle Huppert and Chloe Grace Moretz in the film is It Follows and Independence Day: Resurgence star, Maika Monroe.
Jordan will direct based on a script by The Crazies writer, Ray Wright, with the story centering on a young woman named Frances who becomes unlikely friends with a much older woman, a widow whose intentions soon turn sinister. Monroe will play Frances' best friend and savvy roommate, Erica.
This will be a reunion between Monroe and Moretz who starred together in the sci-fi YA adaptation, The 5th Wave. [Deadline]
