Lee Daniels' Adds Jackman, Kravitz, & Deniro to Precious Follow-Up

Damn it's been a huge couple of days for Lee Daniels. Not only did Precious take home 5 wins at the Independent Spirit Awards plus another 2 at the Academy Awards last night, but now today he can add three huge names to his next project. Multiple sources are confirming that Hugh Jackman, Lenny Kravitz, and Robert Deniro are all confirmed for roles in Daniels' film about Martin Luther King, titled Selma. The film is said to focus strongly on the relationship between King and President Lyndon Johnson.

Kravitz will be taking on the role of Andrew Young, a civil rights activist who became closely associated with Dr. King and his movement. It's unclear at this time who Jackman and Deniro will be portraying.

I know the Hollywood "white-wash" has been in full effect lately, but I'm guessing neither of these two will be playing Dr. King. Just a hunch.

I'm one of those people who thinks that Precious was a good, but overrated film that suffered from extremely bland direction at times, particularly during her "fantasy" moments. But Daniels was able to tap into some truly powerful performances from all involved, and considering the acting pedigree Selma is shaping up to have this one could be amazing.
