A Mission: Impossible name change?

Variety is reporting that there's a possibility the next Mission: Impossible film won't be titled Mission: Impossible 4 like most assume. They're hinting that it might do away with the M:I title completely, choosing to go with a name that I guess nobody will ever recognize. Makes sense, doesn't it? Would you like to sabotage yourselves, sirs?

Why Paramount would even consider this is beyond me. Let's assume for a second that Tom Cruise is in fact going to leave the franchise at some point. Jeremy Renner takes over, but instead of building on the instant notoriety and recognition of Mission: Impossible, you've got people wondering what the heck "A Gun to Reload" or whatever stupid title they come up with is.

I fully expect that Paramount will decide to stick with Mission: Impossible, but maybe add a subtitle of some sort to distinguish it.

They should call it Mission Impossible: Knight for a Day. Then maybe Cruise can feel like he didn't flop so bad last time.
