Director Brad Bird, along with producer JJ Abrams, have begun the search for the primary female role in next year's Mission: Impossible 4. Jeremy Renner was just recently cast as the male lead opposite the returning Tom Cruise. Rumors are that Paula Patton(Idlewild
) and Lauren German(What We Do is Secret
) are the top contenders and will be screen testing shortly. The role is said to be for a young, female operative.I don't recall much about any of German's performances. Then again that might have to do with most of the flicks she's been in have been unimpressive. Patton, however, is goreous, and has proven herself to be a tough, heady actress who really shined last year in Precious
. I hope she snags the part.
