The plan is to follow-up the presumed box office shattering numbers of Green Lantern by quickly announcing a summer or Christmas 2012 release date for the sequel, which would be filmed back-to-back with the third leg of the trilogy. The last film would drop some time in 2013. So basically three movies in three years. That's crazy talk, kemosabe.
Why? That's one hell of a commitment, especially for Ryan Reynolds who I'm not so sure signed on for that type of deal. Plus, he's got another major superhero franchise in Deadpool on the horizon, and whether or not that can be pushed aside for this is unclear.
So keep this little tidbit in your back pocket for future reference. If they really are planning something like this, might we possibly see the greatest Green Lantern ever in one of the films? That would be GL Guy Gardner, of course.
