And now...a story about a dog. Marilyn Monroe's dog, Maf, to be exact. Maf was a Scottish poodle, a gift given to her by Frank Sinatra back in 1960. Maf is also the subject of Andrew O'Hagan's book, The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe. Speaking with The Times, O'Hagan revealed that the book is being produced for the big screen. And just who will be starring as the sexual icon Monroe and the dashing Rat Packer, Sinatra?
Angelina Jolie and George Clooney. At least that's what O'Hagan says. A few months ago, O'Hagan said that Steven Soderbergh was in line to direct the film. So this talk has been going on for awhile now. He can't just be talking out of his butt, so I'm thinking there's probably a kernel of truth to some of it.
At some point in his career Clooney has to play Sinatra. If any actor embodies the icy cool charm of Ol' Blue Eyes, it's him. Honestly they really just need to make a Rat Pack flick with Clooney and all his buddies. Then again I guess they sorta did with the Ocean's Eleven movies.
