Step Up director to helm Justin Bieber biopic

Hey, if a single dance move can change the world, maybe a single director can change the fate of Justin Bieber's movie? The internet exploded when it was revealed that a 3-D biopic of the bite-sized singer was in development over at Paramount. Reportedly a ton of directors leaped at the opportunity, but others backed away slowly.

Now it's being reported that John Chu, director of Step Ups 2 and 3, has been hired. Chu is already hard at work on the project, with his upcoming concert in Nashville being used for behind the scenes footage. Filming is said to be culminating with Bieber's August 31st performance at Madison Square Garden.

They're going to have to work fast. Paramount already has a release date set for February 11th, 2011.
