While I'm not the devotee that some people are of McBride, the guy definitely is more funny than not. I can't say the same about Ansari, who is routinely the least humorous aspect of every film he's been in. The film is based on an original idea from Ansari and Matt Hubbard(The Office
), with the script written by Harris Wittels(The Sarah Silverman Program
). The fact that Ansari has this much input doesn't instill me with a ton of confidence, but I have to admit the basic plot sounds like a possible gem.
