Amy Adams joins Jason Segel's 'The Muppets'

Last year we learned that Jason Segel(Forgetting Sarah Marshall) would be writing and starring in a new film featuring The Muppets. At the time it was assumed Segel would be directing as well, and I was immediately intrigued.  Then word came down that he wouldn't be directing, but that James Bobin(Flight of the Conchords) had won the job and my interest took a nosedive. I haven't posted on the flick since. Now Disney has given me reason to start paying attention again.

Amy Adams is now in final negotiations for a major role as Segel's girlfriend in the film, who tags along with him and Walter the Muppet as they journey to Muppet Studios to save it from an evil businessman.  As it stands right now the title of the film stands as "The Muppets", which is pretty friggin' lame. The earliest version had the title of "The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made", which also doesn't seem to make much sense but at least it has some flair to it.
