, this was a no brainer. We will not have a completed 3D version of the film within our release date window…Despite everyone’s best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality. We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey.
The final installment of the Harry Potter franchise is still set for July 15th, 2011 and all indications are that it will be in 3D. With so much lead time there will be no excuses if it ends up looking like a vaseline soaked mess.
This comes as we're also learning, via Chief Creative Officer(and all around comic book God) Geoff Johns that the trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to showings of Harry Potter next month. Most, myself included, expected there to be one at the New York Comic-Con but apparently that's a no go. Don't be surprised if it leaks a few days early.
