Jon Hamm wanted for Mark Millar's 'Superior'?

Mark Millar's latest superhero comic, Superior, has only been on store racks for a day and already the talkative creator behind Wanted and Kick-Ass is stating he's been approached by filmmakers about adapting it into a movie. On his Millarworld site, he had this to say about it and the prospect of a certain Mad Men star possibly taking over the lead role....

Millar: One director and one producer got in touch just a few hours after this hit the shelves today. I'd sent previews to several friends last month, but these guys only read the book today and called me one after the other when I was shopping in ASDA.

One of them I absolutely love and this is definitely in his comfort zone. The other was a curve-ball, a producer who has worked on lots of big family movies with the director he's proposing, but strangely has never done a superhero flick before.

Anyway, we're having talks again tomorrow and my agent said two other guys have set up calls for tomorrow evening to run through THEIR ideas on where the story goes (which is immediately putting me off them). But the guys I spoke to tonight were both great and I've sent them the scripts for the rest of the series.

Both guys had casting ideas already and suggested the same dude: Mister Jon Hamm from Mad Men, whom I absolutely love. This is by no means guaranteed casting, but interesting that they both suggested the same guy. Will keep you posted as events happen, but I think this could be an interesting week.

Somebody REALLY wants to see Don Draper dressed up in tights pretty badly. If you'll recall, Hamm was also named as a possibility to star as Superman in Zack Snyder's upcoming relaunch. I haven't read Superior yet(probably won't), but I do know that it's sortof Millar's own vision of a Superman comic. Could turn out to be pretty interesting. The thing that I'm immediately drawn to is this director who would fit in so comfortably. The obvious name springs to mind: Zack Snyder. Or maybe even Matthew Vaughn? Only time will tell.

Check out a brief synopsis of Superior below.

Ollie Janson had it all going for him: plenty of friends at school, good looks, and his coach called him one of the most talented basketball players he's ever seen. But that was when he could still move his legs. Now he's living with multiple sclerosis, missing all the little things he used to take for granted, and escaping into the world of movies and comics with his best friend.

Then... SUPERIOR entered his life.
