Snyder: As I have already explained, the film will focus on early days of Superman, so there will be no links with other films. This is not a remake then. Similarly, although I still can not talk about the script, I can assure you that this new Superman will not be based on a comic book in particular.
I guess he's already explained that to somebody. No need to get testy, Zack. Don't we get our chance to see the "early days" of Superman every single week(everyday if you count reruns) on Smallville? I was hoping for a different path altogether. Something darker. That's not to say it won't turn out that way but it doesn't sound like it to me. It sounds like a youth movement, which I have little interest in seeing. Hell, I'd prefer they go completely old school and bring back giant robots and Lois Lane as a damsel in distress rather than go through some sort of "Twilight" teen angle.
Maybe I'm exaggerating. Snyder's comments are intentionally vague, and I'm forgetting that everyone involved(Nolan and Goyer specifically) have rarely steered a production wrong.
BTW, that picture is actually Superboy from the mid 90's if I remember correctly. No matter how bad this film might be they'll never reach back and dredge up that awful costume. Right? Right?
