Rumor: Mary Louise Parker as Lois Lane?

This is pretty much an unsubstantiated rumor, but an interesting one nonetheless. A comic shop owner in Silverlake(not sure if he means Cali, Texas, or Washington state) wrote to our friends at Comicboomovie.com and says that Mary Louse Parker recently visited his shop. You'd think maybe she'd buy the movie adaptation of Red, the comic book flick she's currently starring in alongside Bruce Willis. You'd be wrong, though. Instead she bought three Superman graphic novels.

The source says that he asked what they were for and she didn't give him any details. Is it possible she's reading for a role in Superman? The source speculates Lois Lane. Me? I think she'd make a better La Encantadora.

Casting Parker would seem to contradict Zack Snyder's previous comments that the film would focus on Superman's early days. Then again, since they're creating their own continuity here, there's no reason why Superman couldn't have been a bit older when he decided to don the red & blue tights. Personally I'd love to see her in the movie in any capacity. She's sexy, a bit ferocious, and has a firm grasp on comedy as seen on her show Weeds every week on Showtime.

Bear in mind that it's likely that Parker is just really private and didn't want to give some random clerk(who might look like the comic book dude from The Simpsons) any info on her buying habits. Maybe she likes Superman comics? Or has a nephew who does? Then again we've seen rumors started from less than this in the past. Nearly all of the recent X-men: First Class casting news sprung from seeing a couple of actors walking around with comics in their hands.
