The Sunday Drive: 10/17/10

3. The Social Network
How many more reasons do you need to see one of the best movies of the year? A beautifully writen, superbly acted parable on greed, power, and loyalty.
2. Jackass 3D
Johnny Knoxville and the gang have gotten a little older, but the stunts are just as crazy and disgusting as ever. Celebrating 10 years of vomit inducing buffoonery, Jackass makes the leap into the next level with some of the most superb 3D of the year.
1. Red
Helen Mirren wielding a massive machine gun? She'd fit right in with The Expendables. Speaking of which, Red is exactly what that film should've been. A brilliant all-star cast featuring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and John Malkovich unleashing violent justice against their ex-CIA masters. A superb mix of comedy and action, courtesy of director Robert Schwentke.

DVD Pick of the Week: How to Train Your Dragon
Say what you want about Kung Fu Panda, Dreamworks had never stepped up into the animation big leagues until this year. HTTYD combines high adventure, warm likable characters, and humor into a perfect mix for kids and adults alike. Jay Baruchel voices Hiccup, a lowly runt of a viking who defies his clan by befriending one of their most hated enemies, a fearsome dragon named Toothless. Together the two set to heel the rift between their two races.
