Tops at the Box Office

1. Jackass 3D- $50M
Never underestimate the power of poo. Jackass 3D set all types of Fall records, including the biggest opening weekend ever for the season(surpassing Scary Movie). In fact, the $50M opening nearly surpasses the debuts of both previous films combined, although this one had the added benefit of 3D ticket prices. Reports show that 90% of the total gross was due to the upgraded format.
2. Red- $22.5M
Wait..so Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and John Malkovich lost out to a bunch of guys punching eachother in the nuts? Red's opening compares favorably to all of the other action comedies this year, including Bruce Willis's Cop Out, which opened at $18M.
3. The Social Network- $11M/$63.1M
4. Secretariat- $9.5M/$27.5M
Secretariat had the best 2nd week hold of all major releases this year, only dropping 25%.
5. Life as We Know It- $9.2M/$28.9M
6. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole- $4.24M/$46M
7. The Town- $4.04M/$80.6M
8. My Soul to Take- $3.16M/$11.9M
Wes Craven's newest horror flop continues to sink in its second week, dropping a whopping 54%.
9. Easy A- $2.65M/$52.3M
10. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps- $2.35M/$47.9M
