Sure Shots: Bryan Singer; Paul Giamatti; James Cameron

* Bryan Singer(The Usual Suspects) has finally gotten the go-ahead for his violent, adult oriented fairy tale, Jack the Giant Killer(aka the film that prevents him from doing anything X-men related). While it's currently the biggest role being pursued by all of young Hollywood at the moment, Singer is said to have his sights set on Aaron Johnson(Kick-Ass). Johnson and Singer have already met to discuss the film, but nothing appears imminent at this point.

* One of my favorite actors, Paul Giamatti, has been cast in John Dies at the End, a comedy-horror from Bubba Ho-Tep director Don Coscarelli. Based on the novel by David Wong, it follows two losers who gain extra sensory perception after injesting a mysterious substance." Looking forward to it already.

* The last thing I heard about the James Cameron produced remake of Fantastic Voyage it was that Paul Greengrass was taking a walk from the whole deal. With no director attached, there really hasn't been much movement. While that problem still hasn't been solved, at least we know who'll be scripting it: Laeta Kalogridis. She recently won raves for her Shutter Island script, and also served as exec producer on Avatar last year. Looks like she and the King of the World must've gotten along famously.
