Tops at the Box Office

1. Paranormal Activity 2- $41.5M
It had the benefit of IMAX screens, plus around 2000 more screens than the original, but that doesn't change the fact that the sequel to last year's surprise hit broke the record for supernatural horror flicks. It's debut more than doubled the wide release debut of Paranormal Activity at $19.6M.
2. Jackass 3D- $21.6M/$87.1M
Johnny Knoxville and the gang's first foray into 3D is also the most lucrative of the franchise, surpassing Jackass 2's $72M haul.
3. Red- $15M/$43.5M
On the verge of surpassing Cop Out, which I'm sure Bruce Willis is happy about.
4. Hereafter- $12M/$12.3M
The TV spots for Hereafter spent most of the time teasing some sort of revelatory tale of what happens to us in the afterlife. Unfortunately what they didn't do was reveal any sort of story, so the latest film from Clint Eastwood was all but lifeless at the box office.
5. The Social Network- $7.3M/$72.9M
6. Secretariat- $6.92M/$37.4M
7. Life as We Know It- $6.15M/$37.6M
Maybe it's because I expect so little from flicks like this(similar to The Switch), but I'm liking this flick more now that it's in my rearview mirror. I'm happy to see it hanging around the top 10 for awhile.
8. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole- $3.17M/$50.2M
9. The Town- $2.72M/$84.7M
10. Easy A- $1.75M/$54.8M
