Trailer Time: Ong Bak 3, starring Tony Jaa

We haven't seen a trailer(or at least posted about one) for Tony Jaa's Ong Bak 3 since April. My partner John is far more excited about it than I am, since I found Ong Bak 2 to be wildly confusing and disjointed. The action, of course, was phenomenal and will likely be the same in Ong  Bak 3.  Unfortunately other production issues have worried me since day one. If you recall, Jaa demanded he be able to direct Ong Bak 2, which he did. The vibe on set was chaotic, and the film suffered as a result. Ong Bak 3 is almost totally made up of unused footage from that film. Not a good sign.  In fact, negative critical reaction globally to Ong Bak 3 is part of the reason Jaa hopped aboard an elephant and became a Buddhist monk, completely shunning the film industry.

Now how much confidence do you have in this flick?  Yeah, me neither.  But a guy can hope, and one thing that could be great is that this film will feature more battles between Tien(Jaa's character) and the "demon crow" fighter from Ong Bak 2.

Ong Bak 3 should be hitting our shores in January of 2011, but you can check out the latest trailer now. Let us know what you think. Are you a fan of Tony Jaa? Do you want him to become more of a force here in America the same way others like Jackie Chan and Jet Li have?
