Robert Rodriguez out, Adam Berg possibly in as DEADPOOL director

The LA Times is reporting that Fox is already pushing ahead as if Robert Rodriguez definitely won't be directing Deadpool, and have turned their attention towards Adam Berg as a possible choice. Berg impressed them and likely star Ryan Reynolds with his short film, Carousel, a 2-minute long commercial for electronics giant Phillips.

Berg has never directed a feature film, and the Sweden native has focused mostly on commercials and music videos. Not that such inexperience should matter. Remember the name Carl Rinsch? The unknown commercial director who almost got the job directing the prequel to Alien?

I'd never seen Berg's Carousel ad until just yesterday, and I can see why he'd be such a popular choice. It's basically a mini-movie in itself, all wrapped up in just a couple of minutes. Still, this is a major franchise for the studio, and with so much uncertainty swirling around the film already would it be wise to put it in such inexperienced hands? You can check out the Carousel video below, and judge for yourself.
