Aquaman movie in 2015?

If it's not starring Entourage's Vinnie Chase and directed by James Cameron, I could care less about an Aquaman flick of any sort. The Internet kinda went loopy when Allen Ritchson(who played the King of Atlantis on Smallville) commented that he thought an Aquaman film was in the works, but in reading his actual statement he seemed to be speculating more than anything else. One of the reasons why I didn't write about it.

Screenrant, however, appears to have a bit more info on a possible Aquaman movie, noting an inside source who says that Warner Brothers is "indeed planning" an Aquaman film. However since the studio is already busy with Green Lantern, the Flash, The Dark Knight Rises, and possible JLA and Wonder Woman flicks, it likely wouldn't happen until around 2015 or 2016.  The line of thinking is that it may be better to up the second rate hero's status via cameos in other films before embarking on a likely very expensive adventure. The whole thing would likely take place underwater, afterall.

If superheroes could be characterized as an enema, Aquaman is where they would stick the plug. He's the constant butt of jokes, and I personally have never been able to take his character seriously. The most fun I used to have way back in the early days of AOL was going in the Aquaman chat room(yes, there was Aquaman chat room!!) and trying to force then Aquaman comic book editor Kevin Dooley to come up with reasons why I should read his series. Never could come up with one.
