First poster for The Beaver, starring Mel Gibson and directed by Jodie Foster

Comingsoon.net caught a glimpse of a poster for a film we probably won't ever get a chance to see, unfortunately. Or at least it's going to be some time before we do. Probably not until we've forgotten all about it. The Beaver stars Mel Gibson as a CEO of a toy company who finds a beaver puppet(get your mind out of the gutter) and begins using it as his sole means of communication. Jodie Foster is directing, her first effort since 1995's Home for the Holidays, and will also co-star as Gibon's wife.

The script by Kyle Killen was all the friggin' rage a couple of years ago, topping that year's Black List. A release date was set for December 24th, but thanks to Gibson's numerous incidents(domestic abuse charges along with racist comments) making him persona non grata, the film is basically shelved indefinitely. Imagine how this could've panned out if Jim Carrey or Steve Carell, both attached at one point, would've stuck around? Then again, would there be as much buzz about The Beaver if they did? Probably not.

Anyway, check the poster below. Kinda creepy, don't you think?
