Rumor: Jean-Claude Van Damme in The Expendables 2?

Briefly...

By now we all know that Sylvester Stallone approached the Muscles from Brussels himself, Jean-Claude Van Damme, about a role in The Expendables, but he flatly turned it down. While his decision was disappointing, I don't really blame him. He was just coming off a career resurgence after JCVD and wanted to pursue other stuff that featured him as the star, not be a part of an ensemble. I get it.  But that didn't blunt my hopes that maybe he'd come back for the sequel, which is already shaping up to be better(hopefully!!) than the mediocre first film. Reports have been that Sly is looking to have Bruce Willis reprise his role, only this time as the definite villain. Feelers have been sent out to a variety of action stars, including Hulk Hogan, Carl Weathers, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and more. Yesterday we heard that Charlie Sheen, not exactly my idea of an action hero, Navy Seals excluded, has a part.

But would Van Damme change his mind and join in on the fun?  According to a tweet from Sly himself, there might be a chance...

"Good day to say that the new story line for next Expendables is taking shape-many twists that i've yet to figure out yet -JCVD possibility!"

Hey, I don't care if these guys are all a bunch of geriatric fogeys basking in the twilight of their careers. I want to see Sly vs. Van Damme. Period. Honestly, since they didn't really utilized the "Dirtzy Dozen" idea to the fullest last time, I wish they'd go a totally different direction and dream up a scenario in which we get to see all of these icons have to battle it out with eachother. Who wouldn't want to see Van Damme vs. Jet Li? Or Vin Diesel vs. The Rock? Or Carl Weathers vs. Cynthia Rothrock? Ok maybe not that last one.
