Sure Shots: Brad Pitt; True Grit; Al Pacino

* Brad Pitt is looking to re-team with his The Assassination of Jesse James director Andrew Dominik in the mob flick, Cogan's Trade. Pitt would both star and produce the dark comedy, portraying a mob enforcer investigating a heist that takes place during a mafia protected poker game. Casey Affleck is already attached for a role in the ensemble, which does not have a director attached at the moment.

* Hoping to get a jump on the Christmas holidays, Paramount has pushed up the release date for The Coen Brothers' True Grit three days to December 22nd. Why? Because nobody's going to the movies on Christmas. Not even me. But if the film has good buzz going into the holiday there's a good chance people will check it out on the 26th while out at the malls.

* Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon are set to star in Arbitage, the first full length feature written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki. Jarecki has been mostly seen as a writer(he wrote the script for The Informers, which was awful beyond words) and a producer(Tyson). Pacino will star as a corrupt hedge fund manager struggling to sell his trading company. Sarandon will play his wife, while Eva Green(Casino Royale) will be Pacino's art dealer mistress.
