Beverly Hills Cop 4? Yeah I was hoping it had died a quiet crib death, too. Apparently Brett Ratner hasn't given up on it, stating recently that he still plans to continue the adventure of Axel Foley, the wise cracking cop personified by Eddie Murphy back in the mid 80s. Ratner says he wants to do it, but it won't happen anytime soon. Why? Because Eddie Murphy is being careful, and doesn't want to ruin his most iconic character. Awww, ain't that sweet. Ratner referred to the character as Eddie Murphy's "Clark Kent". That's funny. I got a quick question, though: If Murphy is so damned serious about protecting Axel Foley, why has he let Ratner within a country mile of the project?

Wizard of Oz
re-imaginings floating around right now, at least one outfit is looking to stick with the most recognizable version. Warner Brothers is looking to Robert Zemeckis to helm a word-for-word recreation of the classic, with hopes of having Robert Downey Jr. star. If he signs on to play Dorothy then maybe I'll be interested in this. Zemeckis has been busy the last few years with his performance capture animated flicks mostly, including
The Polar Express 
and
A Christmas Carol
